 There are so many reasons to join.

  1. Stay connected to a powerful network of 180,000 alumni! As an Association member you will receive newsletters and e-mails with updates and invitations to alumni events and networking opportunities. We host free or low cost professional development events, speaker series, alumni workplace lunches, tailgate parties and social/business mixers.

  2. Online Alumni Community & Services. As a graduate of Sacramento State you have free access to the Sacramento State Online Community. There you can reconnect with fellow alumni, set-up a personal page, register for events and sign-up for a lifetime Sac State e-mail address. As a member of the Association you have exclusive access to the career network, class notes and the mentorship program.
  1. Advance your career. Take advantage of low fees on resume and job search skills assessment. Or prepare for graduate school with a test prep course from Kaplan and receive $100 off the course price. Also, take advantage of discounted Alumni Career Services offered through the Career Center.

  2. Information Access. Enjoy access to the libraries at all 23 CSU campuses for only $5 per year.

  3. We keep you healthy & safe. Sac State Alumni receive discounts on health, vision, life, auto, renters and homeowner’s insurance through an alumni group-discount savings plan.

  4. Save on campus activities. Association members receive discounts at the Hornet Bookstore, the Sacramento State Aquatic Center, the Career Center and Hornet Athletics. Members can also purchase a discounted recreation pass for the campus swimming pool and racquetball and tennis courts. Discounts on car rentals, hotels, vacations, movie passes and gym memberships are also available.

Alumni Grove
Our members can rent the campus' Alumni Grove and use of its restroom facilities for $200. The University's Facilities Management Department will supply and set up tables and chairs for a modest fee based on quantity. To reserve the Grove and arrange for set-up, call Facilities Management at (916) 278-6507.

Receive the full-color glossy Sac State Magazine, a quarterly alumni publication produced by the University. Also receive the Sac State Alum, an Association newsletter, which will keep you informed of current benefits and activities of your Alumni Association. Career Center
Association members receive a $15 discount on the annual fee the Career Center (www.csus.edu/careercenter) charges alumni.  Career services offer assistance with job search strategies; career change; education planning; assessment of skills, values, and interests; resume and cover letter reviews; creating work/life balance; discovering meaningful work; and overcoming obstacles to achieving life and career goals. In addition, the Career Center offers a variety of events and services beneficial to alumni, including on-campus interviews with local and regional employers, career and job fairs, emplyer lecture series, and the use of Career Connection, an online job posting service. Present your membership card at the Career Center, Lassen Hall 2000, to receive your discount. Expand and improve your career with professional assistance now.

The Career Center in collaboration with the Counselor Education Department also offers an evening community Career Services Program, offering individual career counseling appointments for alumni and members of the Sacramento community.

College of Continuing Education
Our members receive a 15 % discount on most offerings by the College of Continuing Education (www.cce.csus.edu/). An extension of Sacramento State, CCE provides courses, workshops, seminars and conferences for off-campus individuals who want to improve their professional skills, prepare themselves for a new career or advance to an academic degree. Formal admission to the University is not required for most of CCE's programs. To request a course catalog, call (916) 278-4433. To enroll and receive your discount, go to Napa Hall, 3000 State University Drive East (southern end of campus).

Sacramento State Alumni Credit Card
The Sacramento State Alumni Association WorldPoints® card is the only credit card that supports the Alumni Association and lets you earn points towards cash back, air travel, merchandise and more - all with no annual fee and a competitive annual percentage rate!

For every new account that is opened and every purchase made with the card, Bank of America will make a contribution to the Sacramento State Alumni Association at no additional cost to you! CSU Libraries
For a modest fee, you are entitled to check out books from any library of any campus in the California State University system. Privileges and fees vary according to campus. At Sacramento State, an Association member may check out as many as five books at any one time. For this privilege, the library charges annual members $5 annually, while 5-year and Life members are charged $5 every two years. To initiate library privileges at any CSU library, simply present your Association membership card at the library's circulation desk and pay the required fee. Folsom Lake Ford
Your Association membership entitles you to purchase any new or used car at Folsom Lake Ford at fleet prices. For new cars, this translates into a purchase price of 2% over the vehicle's factory invoice. Association members are also entitled to free first maintenance, free tire rotations at time of service, free repairs of flat tires, free car appraisals, a 50% discount on smog tests and more. Receive a 10% discount on Hornet Bookstore Merchandise. This offer is good on merchandise purchased at the Alumni Center and the Hornet Bookstore. Discount does not apply to computer software or hardware, electronics and textbooks.

Members receive a 20 percent discount at participating Clarion, Comfort, Quality, Econo Lodge, Rodeway and MainStay hotels worldwide. Contact us at (916) 278-6295, 1-800-722-4723 or alumni@csus.edu to receive a code number and the toll free number needed to receive the discount when making advance reservations.

Insurance Programs
The Association offers two kinds of comprehensive medical insurance that cover both alumni and their families - GradMed, short-term health insurance for new graduates and alumni who are between jobs; and AlumniMed+, renewable long-term coverage for alumni under age 65. AlumniTerm offers life insurance for alumni and their spouses up to age 60, in policy amounts of up to $200,000. Alumni EstateTerm is available to alumni and their spouses, under age 60, in amounts of $250,000 to $1 million, and the initial premium can be locked in for six to 10 years. Alumni SeniorTerm offers coverage of $100,000, is available to alumni and their spouses ages 50-74, and can be renewed up to age 95. More information.

Kaplan
Each Association member, the member's spouse or child is entitled to a $100 discount on one Kaplan course to prepare for the GMAT, GRE, LSAT, MCAT, DAT or OAT. The same discount applies to a preparatory course for the ACT, PSAT, SAT1 or SAT2. Contact Kaplan at 1-800-KAP-TEST to enroll and receive your discount.

Movie Passes
You can order unlimited theater passes good at most Regal Cinema and United Artists Theater locations. The passes cost $6 and can be used by anyone. The passes can be ordered with a credit card by calling (916) 278-6295 or 1-800-722-4723, or by mailing check to the Sacramento State Alumni Association, c/o Sacramento State Alumni Center, California State University, Sacramento, 6000 J Street, Sacramento, CA 95819-6024.

Recreation Passes
Members can purchase a University Affiliate All-Recreations Pass that allows them to use the campus' swimming pool, racquetball and tennis courts at a discounted rate. The pass also confers free access to the weight room, which is not open to the general public. Passes can be purchased at the Campus Recreation Office on the first floor of the University Union.

Sacramento State Aquatic Center
The facility offers Assocation members discounts of 10 percent and more on equipment rentals, joining the Aquatic Center Sailing Club, sailing lessons, windsurfing lessons, and other recreational activities suited for the whole family. Members can purchase football season tickets for only $50 and tickets for all spring athletic events (excluding men's basketball) for $3. Show your membership card at the ticket office to receive discount.

Vacation Travel
Alumni can now book condominiums and hotels at World Class resorts in over 80 countries for only $349 a week! The University Alumni Travel Benefits program offers the world's largest, most diverse selection of condominium rental properties to alumni, faculty and staff of Sacramento State. The $349 weekly rental price normally applies to off-season or short notice vacations, and the rate stays the same regardless of occupancy.
